The American School Art Print 1765 Painting by Matthew Pratt (6 Sizes) - Quality
A striking The American School art print reproduces Matthew Pratt's luminous 1765 oil painting, in which a group of young men gather around an artist's easel in a dim, richly toned interior. The composition contrasts the warm golden canvas and the bright green and blue coats with the shadowy background, drawing the eye to each figure's study and conversation. Originally painted in oil on canvas, this handsome genre scene offers a glimpse into eighteenth-century colonial American art instruction, where pupils copied plaster casts and practiced drawing under a master's guidance. Pratt's vivid detail and thoughtful arrangement of figures make this a memorable choice for collectors of early American painting.
